LEGAL AID

We are approved by Victoria Legal Aid to represent legally aided clients in Family Law matters.

Information about eligibility and the types of matters Victoria Legal Aid can provide assistance for are set out on Victoria Legal Aid’s website at this link https://www.legalaid.vic.gov.au/get-legal-services-and-advice/get-lawyer-to-run-your-case.

We are to submit your application for a grant of Legal Aid on your behalf. Having a lawyer submit your application for you may result in a quicker decision than if you submit the application directly with Victoria Legal Aid.

If you prefer that we submit your application for funding, you will need to complete the Application form https://www.legalaid.vic.gov.au/sites/www.legalaid.vic.gov.au/files/vla-grants-of-legal-assistance-guide-and-application-form-12-2019.pdf and send it to us with copies of the following records:

  • Copy of your photo identification;
  • Proof of your income such as three recent payslips and/or your Centrelink Benefit Statement;
  • Your current health care card or other Centrelink concession card;
  • Statements for all your bank or credit union accounts for the last three months

Other or additional documents may be required in some circumstances. We can post you an application form if you do not have access to a printer.
Contact us on (03) 9483 1405 or by email to brooke@keanefamilylaw.com.au to arrange a convenient time to discuss your situation and your application for Legal Aid for your Family Law dispute.
